POSITION SUMMARY:  

 

The Content and Marketing Coordinator for Kelty & Exxel Outdoors is responsible for working closely with the Exxel Outdoors Marketing Manager and other cross-functional teams. Duties for this role include content creation and deployment, deliberate planning and analytics reporting for social channels and marketing, growing our brand awareness and reputation online, and cultivating strategic brand partnerships with organizations, athletes, and ambassadors. Additional duties include sample management and allocation, event planning and logistics, and photo and video shoot production assistance.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 

 

• Participates in overall brand direction and development, and execution of the annual marketing plan and creative calendar, while under guidance from the Exxel Outdoors Marketing Manager.
• Ensures consistent brand image of Exxel Outdoor brands through all marketing content.
• Organizes, manages timelines, and executes content for social 
• Manages sample delivery for PR, events, and photoshoots.
• Assists in the production of photo and video shoots, including casting, location planning, on set assistance with lighting, photo/video equipment, and styling. 
• Coordinates with brand partners, athletes, and ambassadors for brand representation and storytelling.
• Continually reviews and analyzes actions to drive a positive ROI.

 

Social Media

• Orchestrates the social media output for all of Exxel Outdoors’s brands.
• Schedules posts, responds to comments, writes captions, analyzes performance, and works on social media direction with the greater Marketing organization.
• Coordinates with strategic partners on social content, giveaways, and product promotion.
• Edits the occasional reel, resizes images, and stays up to date on social media trends.

Brand Partnerships

• Coordinates with athletes, brand ambassadors, and strategic partners for brand promotion on social media and at events.
• Fosters relationships with ambassadors and athletes, understanding mutual schedules and content goals to boost reach and maintain brand identity.
• Works with Marketing Manager on selection of strategic brand partnerships for growth. 

 

Sample Allocation and Public Relations Coordination

• Orders samples for athletes, ambassadors, photoshoots, and events.
• Understands project timelines to ensure on-time and accurate delivery of samples.
• Works directly with PR team to launch products and seed samples to media.
• Maintains communication cross-functionally of sample status and delivery.

Photo / Video Shoot Production & Event Coordination

 

• Assists in the production of photo and video shoots in partnership with the Marketing Manager.
• Performs casting, location scouting, day of logistics, shot list prep, and sample allocation for photoshoots.
• Assists in event coordination and attendance when applicable.

 

Additional Responsibilities

• Works closely with email specialist, performance marketing, and graphic design team for general marketing needs and support.
• Updates project tracker documents, maintains close communication cross functionally of project updates, and regularly tracks analytics to practice data-driven decision making.
• Performs other related duties as required and assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS

• Bachelor’s degree in marketing or related field.
• 2-3 years of marketing, social-media, email marketing, or related experience in the consumer product industry.
• Excellent project management skills.
• Strong conceptual, analytical thinker and creative problem-solver.
• Ability and desire to work for team-driven organization in a diverse environment.
• Excellent written and verbal interpersonal and communication skills.
• Strong organizational and project management skills and ability to multitask effortlessly.
• Works well under pressure managing multiple deadlines.
• Excellent computer skills (Word, Excel, and Power Point); alternate skills (Adobe Creative Suite, including Illustrator, Photoshop and InDesign) are a plus.
• Must be team, customer, and brand-focused, responsive in all ways, and has a high level of energy and passion for Exxel Outdoors brands, including Kelty product and positioning.
• Demonstrated drive and confidence.
• Passion for the outdoor lifestyle including camping, backpacking and hiking is required. Experience and understanding of Kelty’s products is a plus. 

WORK ENVIRONMENT

 

A collaborative, open space work environment located on the second floor of the 40,000 sq. foot facility located in Broomfield, Colorado. Team members share a common desk area. There are approximately 50 employees in the 40,000 sq. ft Broomfield corporate facility which houses a workout facility, multiple quiet telephone booths and a large employee breakroom for the employee’s use.

Salary range for the Content & Marketing Coordinator position is $60,000-$65,000 annually based on education and prior experience.
