Job Title: Senior Mechanical Engineer
Location: Exton, PA - Onsite
Job Description:
The Senior Mechanical Engineer will lead mechanical engineering projects across the food and beverage, biotechnology, biopharmaceutical, pharmaceutical, and specialty chemical industries. Your expertise will directly contribute to delivering effective solutions that meet client needs while adhering to budget and timeline constraints.
Key Responsibilities:
Client Engagement: Collaborate with clients to define project requirements, ensuring solutions align with their expectations.
Documentation Development: Create standard engineering documents at various project stages, including:
User requirement specifications
Basis of design narratives
P&IDs and PFDs
Equipment specifications and datasheets
Control Points List and Sequence of Operations
Industrial facility planning (material, equipment, and personnel flow)
HAZOP participation and documentation
RFP preparation and bid tabulations
Process and clean utilities design
Implementation Verification: Ensure systems are correctly implemented and compliant with applicable standards (e.g., cGMPs).
Project Support: Assist Project Managers during startup and commissioning phases.
Project Execution: Manage projects of varying sizes, focusing on those with higher complexity.
Quality Assurance: Uphold the quality of design documents and foster a culture of quality within the team.
Team Development: Mentor junior engineers and promote a commitment to safety and design excellence.
Qualifications:
Education: BS or higher in Mechanical Engineering or Chemical Engineering.
Technical Knowledge: Familiarity with cGMP requirements, clean design practices, piping system specifications, and regulatory guidelines (IBC, IFC, NFPA, OSHA).
HVAC and Ventilation: Understanding of industrial ventilation principles and HVAC systems.
Dust Management: Experience handling combustible dusts.
Commissioning Experience: Proven background in start-up and commissioning of mechanical and process systems.
Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written skills for effective collaboration in multidisciplinary teams.
Organizational Skills: Results-oriented, detail-oriented, and adept at managing multiple projects simultaneously.
Team Player: Positive attitude with the ability to foster collaboration among colleagues and clients.
Software Proficiency: Competency in MS Office and MS Project.
Work Environment:
Additional hours may be required based on workload.
Travel to client sites is expected.
