About this Role:

The Data Analytics Division (DAD) is recruiting for a Research Scientist Supervisor I (RSS I) in the Data Science Branch (DSB), Research Advisory Services Section (RASS). The RSS I is responsible for the supervision and operation of the Research Advisory Services Unit (RASU). The unit serves as the branch lead for urgent, high profile research requests, confirming business requirements, supporting Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services/Office of the Inspector General audit requests, and conducting bill analysis. The unit supports the development and implementation of research/evaluation methodologies, the development of measure specifications, the calculation of performance metrics, and use of data management and governance processes associated with health services research.

Training and Development (T&D) assignments may be considered for this position for current California civil service employees. T&D assignments cannot exceed 24 months. However, successful T&D candidates may transition to a permanent appointment, if eligible at the end of the T&D assignment.

This position is subject to the Department's Conflict of Interest Code and filing a Statement of Economic Interests (Form 700) when assuming office, annually while in office, and upon leaving office.

Telework and Salary Information

This position is currently eligible for telework up to three days per week and is required to report in person a minimum of two days per week. The amount of telework is at the discretion of the Department and is subject to change consistent with DHCS’ Telework Program and Government Code sections 14200 – 14203.
