Job Title: General Sales Manager – D’Addario Nissan Location: Shelton, CT Compensation: Competitive Base + Performance-based Bonuses Salary Range: $165,000 - $200,000 (Based on Level of Experience) Experience Level: Management (3+ Years in Automotive Sales Management) D'Addario Auto Group is a family owned and operated business that has been a fixture in the Auto Industry for over 50 years and prides itself on its commitment to our employees and our customers. We’re seeking a dynamic and experienced General Sales Manager (GSM) to lead our high-performing sales team and help take our dealership to the next level. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Lead, motivate, and manage the sales team to meet and exceed monthly, quarterly, and annual sales goals
  • Hold and participate in sales training meetings
  • Develop and execute sales strategies that drive profitability and customer satisfaction
  • Recruit, train, and develop top-tier sales talent
  • Set individual sales goals and work with employees to support them in achieving their goals, hold staff accountable to achieve targets
  • Ensure that salespeople are informed of all new and used inventory and current advertising efforts, including special sales
  • Oversee inventory management and pricing strategies for new and used vehicles through V Auto
  • Build and order new vehicle inventory
  • Purchase used vehicles at the door and at auction
  • Responsible for appraising, reconditioning, displaying, wholesaling and merchandising the product
  • Assist in planning annual and monthly departmental forecasts, staffing objectives, and vehicle inventory
  • Monitor and analyze market trends, customer needs, and competitor activities
  • Review sales reports to determine client needs and volume potential
  • Manage incoming traffic as well as internet leads, monitor and follow up, utilizing VinSolutions CRM
  • Work closely with the finance and service departments to ensure seamless customer experience
  • Oversee F&I as well as act as backup, ensuring deals are funded in a timely manner
  • Review and validate sales commissions for internet sales manager and sales team and turn into office weekly
  • Manage incentive schedule weekly, ensuring manufacture and state rebates are paid timely
  • Maintain strong CSI scores and have a customer centered approach to business
  • Ensure compliance with all dealership policies, manufacturer programs, and state regulations
  • Report on sales performance and KPIs to dealership leadership
Job Requirements
  • Proven experience as a Sales Manager or GSM in the automotive industry (Nissan experience preferred)
  • Exceptional leadership, coaching, and interpersonal skills
  • Strong understanding of dealership financials, CRM tools, and DMS systems (e.g., Dealertrack, Reynolds & Reynolds)
  • Prior experience with VinSolutions is a plus but not required
  • Prior experience with Reynolds Ignite a plus
  • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities
  • Strong closing skills
  • High level of integrity and professionalism
  • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
  • Great work ethic with a passion for teamwork
