Data Entry Specialist (Temporary, Possible Temp-to-Hire)

Hybrid Position (once trained), 3-days per week onsite, 2-days remote

Hours: Monday-Friday, 8:00-4:30, 40-hours per week

Non-Exempt, Hourly Pay Rate: $19.50-21.50/hour

Location: San Diego, CA (La Jolla/UTC)

FairSquare is continuing to grow and has a great opportunity for a Data Entry Specialist. FairSquare is a stable, fast-growing fintech company in the UTC area. Under the direct supervision of the VP, Accounting and Controller, the Data Entry Specialist will primarily be responsible for accurately inputting and organizing financial information into the company software platforms. The specialist ensures that all information are recorded with precision and in compliance with established procedures and regulations. Attention to detail and data accuracy are essential for success in this role.

What You'll Be Doing:

• Accurately enter and update various types of data into company databases and systems.
• Verify and review data for errors, inconsistencies, and discrepancies, making necessary corrections.
• Organize and prioritize data entry tasks based on deadlines and project requirements.
• Collaborate with other team members to ensure data accuracy and completeness.
• Maintain data confidentiality and adhere to data security policies and procedures.
• Perform routine data quality checks to identify and rectify any inaccuracies.
• Identify and communicate potential issues or trends in data quality.
• Generate reports and summaries from entered data as requested.
• Assist in data clean-up and migration projects when necessary.

An Ideal Candidate Looks Like This:

• High school diploma or equivalent; additional education or certification in data entry is a plus.
• Proven experience as a Data Entry Specialist or similar role.
• Proficient typing skills and strong attention to detail.
• Familiarity with data entry tools and software, as well as proficiency in using office software (e.g., Microsoft Excel, Google Sheets).
• Excellent organizational and time management skills.
• Ability to work independently and within a team.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Demonstrated commitment to data accuracy and integrity.
• Prior experience in handling confidential and sensitive information is preferred.
• Basic understanding of data security and privacy regulations is a plus.

Physical Demands:

• Working in a temperature-controlled office environment
• Sitting at a desk for long periods of time while viewing multiple computer screen monitors
• Potential lifting of boxes around 5-10lbs
