Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and forward-thinking Chief Compliance Officer (CCO) to lead and scale the compliance operations. This is a leadership role focused on driving efficiency and scalability through process optimization, technology adoption, and strong project management. The ideal candidate will have experience in regulated industries and a proven track record of leveraging modern tools and technologies to enhance compliance functions. This role is critical to ensuring we meets regulatory requirements while supporting our growth and long-term goals.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead Compliance Operations: Oversee and manage all compliance activities for my client's growing organization, ensuring adherence to well-documented regulatory requirements.

  • Drive Process Efficiency: Implement and refine processes and procedures to streamline compliance operations, focusing on scalability and efficiency.

  • Leverage Technology: Adopt and integrate modern compliance tools and workflow automation to enhance operational efficiency and reduce manual processes.

  • Project Management: Manage compliance-related tasks and deadlines with precision, ensuring timely completion and documentation for audits.

  • Team Leadership: Lead and develop a team of approximately 15 compliance professionals, fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.

  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure the organization remains audit-ready, addressing standardized regulatory requirements and maintaining an audit trail.

  • Strategic Growth: Contribute to my client's long-term growth by modernizing compliance operations and aligning them with business goals.

  • Collaboration: Work closely with the CEO and other senior leaders to align compliance strategies with organizational objectives.

Requirements

  • Experience: Proven experience in compliance roles within technology-forward regulated industries, with a focus on digital or modern financial services.

  • Technical Skills: Proficiency with modern compliance tools and technologies, including workflow automation and digital solutions.

  • Soft Skills:

    • Detail-oriented, with a strong focus on process and procedure ("dot the I's, cross the t's").
    • Exceptional project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
    • Process-driven, with a focus on execution and scalability.
  • Regulatory Knowledge: Familiarity with standardized regulatory requirements and the ability to execute against them effectively.

  • Leadership: Experience leading and developing teams, with a focus on driving efficiency and accountability.

Preferred (Nice-to-Have)

  • Industry Experience: Background in technology-forward organizations, such as modern financial services or fintech companies.

  • Technical Expertise: Experience implementing workflow automation and other technology solutions for compliance operations.

  • Soft Skills: Forward-thinking approach to technology adoption, with a "McKinsey-type" mindset for process optimization.

  • Language Skills: Proficiency in Spanish is helpful but not mandatory (English required).
