Sage Specialty Hospital of Wichita Falls is excited to announce the opening of our brand-new healthcare facility, and we’re seeking an experienced Chief Clinical Officer (CCO) to help lay the foundation for excellence in patient care and team development.

The Chief Clinical Officer (CCO) is responsible for planning, organizing, developing, and directing the hospital’s nursing services and other clinical functions.

Qualifications:

  • Holds a current state license as a Registered Nurse and maintains active licensure in accordance with the standards set forth by the State Board of Nursing.
  • Possesses a Master’s degree in Nursing; OR possesses a Master’s degree in Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, or a health-related field that includes coursework in administration and management; OR is actively progressing under a written plan toward obtaining the nursing administration qualifications associated with a Master’s degree in Nursing.
  • Meets all state-specific education and competency requirements for Nursing Leadership roles.
  • Minimum of five years of progressive leadership experience equivalent to the responsibilities and authority of a Chief Clinical Officer. Experience should align with peer-level leadership roles and match the complexity and scope of hospital operations.
  • Minimum of five years of nursing experience, preferably in critical care, including the care and treatment of complex medical and surgical patient populations in acute and rehabilitative settings.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop, plan, and implement clinical and operational programs.
  • Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills.
  • Strong leadership, organizational, and time management skills.
  • Experience in financial oversight, including profit/loss management.
  • Ability to function independently with sound decision-making, planning, analysis, and problem-solving, while collaborating appropriately with other leadership team members.
  • Must be able to read, write, and speak English fluently.
  • Proficient in basic to intermediate computer skills, including the use of electronic medical records and administrative software.

Job Duties:

  • Participates with governing body, CEO, management, medical staff, and intradepartmental
  • managers/leaders in the hospital’s decision-making structures and processes
  • Develops and implements the hospital’s plans for organization-wide patient care management programs and services
  • Demonstrates efficient fiscal management of clinical operations to ensure proper utilization of organizational and financial resources
  • Collaborates intra/interdepartmentally to ensure cost effective fiscal management of clinical departments
  • Implements an effective, ongoing program to measure, assess, and improve the quality of nursing care, treatment, and services delivered to patients
  • Provides leadership and guidance and functions as a role model in the promotion of positive team dynamics
  • Promotes efficient cost effective use of all departmental supplies and equipment
  • Develops related clinical policies and procedures that describe how patients’ care needs, or the needs of patient populations receiving related clinical care, treatment, and services are met
  • Ensures compliance to clinical practice standards
  • Promotes infection control measures according to policies and procedures
  • Promotes environmental and patient safety
  • Fulfills the role of Registered Nurse as needed (i.e. nursing, infection control, community response emergencies)
  • Manages human resources to assure quality services and promote positive employee relations
